Store, dryer, barn: where does the building lose heat or cold?

Agricultural buildings use a lot of energy, and are often simple structures: a few layers of sheet, a door, a fan. So the defects are large and easy to fix. A thermal survey shows where a heated or cooled space loses its heat, and which repair pays back first.

01 / The situation

What do stores, dryers and farms have in common?

  • 01

    Simple envelope, large surface

Sheet walls, little insulation, long joints. The defect is not a point but a continuous run.

  • 02

    Many openings and doors

With crop handling and ventilation, doors, shutters and fans open and close constantly, and their seals wear fast.

  • 03

    Seasonal load

Dryers and cooled stores work for a few months, but at high output. A defect then quickly turns into a big cost.

02 / What we typically find

What we typically find

Typical items in this type of facility. Which of them exist in your building is what the survey shows: we do not promise defects.

  • Store envelope

Missing insulation in the walls and roof of heated or cooled stores, panel joints.

  • Dryer and flues

Thermal condition of the dryer casing, heat exchanger and exhaust ducts.

  • Gates, doors, roller shutters

Worn seals, poorly closing gates at crop intake.

  • Ventilation, shutters

Leaky ventilation shutters and fan openings in livestock buildings.

  • Boiler and pipework

Uninsulated pipes, fittings and manifolds in the boiler house and across the site.

  • Motors, fans, cabinets

Heating bearings and switch cabinets, which can warn before a breakdown.

Our recommendation

What fits a farm site?

For one store or dryer the Quick diagnostic is usually enough. For several buildings on a larger site, each additional building on the same site and visit costs 60% of the list price.

  • Cold-room module: HUF 45,000 + VAT per room, up to 300 m²
  • Electrical cabinet screening: HUF 12,000 per cabinet with a package

What we ask in return

  • Written consent to an anonymised case study (sector, size band, region; no name, logo or address). You approve the final text.
  • A 30-minute feedback interview, and a follow-up call after six months on which fixes were done.

Same scope and quality as a list-price order. The price does not depend on what you say in the feedback.

05 / How it works

Three steps from quote to fix list

  1. Step 1: Briefing and quote

We ask about size, heating or cooling system and energy price. You get a fixed written quote.

    1 working day

  2. Step 2: Night-time survey

Heated spaces are surveyed in the heating season, at night. Cooled stores, motors and cabinets can also be surveyed in summer under load, so we can agree a date during the season too.

    on site

  3. Step 3: Report and walkthrough

PDF report: for each item the location, likely cause, estimated loss with a range, fix suggestion and priority. Raw files and a walkthrough.

    10 working days

06 / Common questions

What people usually ask

When is the best time to survey?
Heated buildings in the heating season; cooled stores and electrical equipment in summer, under load. That gives you time to make repairs before the season.
Can you survey rural sites and farms?
Yes, within our service area (around Nyíregyháza, Tokaj, Hajdúnánás, Tiszaújváros). Travel is free up to 40 km; from 40 to 80 km it is HUF 15,000 + VAT.
Is it worth it for a small building?
The example figures show that, and the calculator lets you estimate for your own data. A smaller building loses less but is also cheaper to fix, which is why we suggest the Quick diagnostic.

07 / Honest limits

What we do not do

  • We do not disturb animals and do not examine animal welfare or veterinary aspects.
  • We do not rate the condition of crops or goods or the quality of drying.
  • Savings materialise only after the fixes are done; we do not guarantee them.

08 / Get a quote
